Culted — In Residence

Magazine

Culted, a British digital-first culture publication, brought me on to design their first-ever print issue — a 64-page zine launched via a custom-built kiosk situated in Chelsea during New York Fashion Week. The brief spanned fashion, music, hospitality, and community culture across NYC, produced on a one-week timeline from brief to print-ready file.

Challenge

With content, copy, and imagery still arriving in real time, and the editorial team based in London while production ran out of New York, the project needed a design system built to absorb material quickly without losing visual consistency.

Remote Workflow

To bridge the time difference between the London editorial team and my New York-based production schedule, I set up a shared Figma system: a flatplan for tracking page status at a glance, and a running spreads file the team could comment on directly.

Grid System

I built a modular column and baseline grid designed for flexibility over fixed placement, letting spreads absorb unpredictable amounts of copy and imagery as it arrived, without rebuilding each page from scratch.
